Tour the Front Nine at Conesus Golf Club

In addition to the more detailed description to the right, you can have a look at each hole in our photo gallery.
Hole 1 :: 357 Yards :: Par 4
The opening hole at Conesus Golf Club is a slightly up hill par 4. Out of bounds lurks on the right off the tee. A good tee shot will leave you a middle iron to a generous green. Be careful, your second shot here often plays a little longer than it looks due to the green being slightly up hill from the fairway.

Hole 2 :: 498 Yards :: Par 5
The only par 5 on the front nine is a true risk / reward hole. The wide open fairway provides plenty of roll off the tee. Longer hitters can go for the green in two, but not without a lot of risk. The right side of the green is protected by a large tree and there is a tree filled drop off to the left. If you elect to lay up with your second shot, try to get it within 125 yards of the green to give you a clean look at the hole. You'll also want to be on the left side of the fairway, so the tree to the right of the green doesn't come into play. The large green slopes from back to front.

Hole 3 :: 302 Yards :: Par 4
This hole is more challenging than it's length would lead you to believe. From the middle of the white tee box you want to hit a shot only about 165 yards out to clear the corner of the sharp dog leg left, but keep you out of the woods long. This will leave you around 100 yards to a small but receptive green with a severe back to front slope. Be careful of the break if you have to putt back down towards the front of this green.

Hole 4 :: 320 Yards :: Par 4
The fourth hole has a tight tee shot to a blind landing area. If you get your tee shot into this fairway though, you'll have 150 yards or less into a decent sized green. Be careful not to hit your approach long and into the woods behind this green. This is another green that runs fast from back to front.

Hole 5 :: 346 Yards :: Par 4
A slight dog leg to the left, the hardest part about this hole is the approach shot. A good drive will leave you just a middle to short iron in, but with no margin for error. This green is protected by trees left, long, and right as well as a valley short. There are two tiers on this green, right and left - you want to be sure to be on the tier the pin is placed on.

Hole 6 :: 99 Yards :: Par 3
The first par 3 of the day is the shortest hole on the golf course and also features the largest green. The green slopes from right to left - balls on the green will tend to feed back towards the left side.

Hole 7 :: 390 Yards :: Par 4
The seventh hole plays somewhat longer than the yardage lets on because it plays up hill. Your approach shot to this good sized green should avoid missing right, or you'll wind up in some well placed trees. This green has a lot of subtle breaks, so take a second look before you hit your putt.

Hole 8 :: 170 Yards :: Par 3
The other par 3 on the front is often exposed to a breeze that can play tricks with your ball. The edges of this green will reject your ball, so aim for the middle. Another back to front slope greets you once you're on.

Hole 9 :: 357 Yards :: Par 4
When you're on the tee, it looks like you have a lot of room on the left and trouble on the right. In reality, you have a lot more room on the right than it looks like before you get into trouble. Longer hitters can reach the pond on the left. The approach shot is to a raised green with another back to front slope.
